Pictures From Six Year Old’s Birthday Party!

And pictures are about the extent of it since I am beyond exhausted. We will see when I get to blogging again. I have a feeling work is going to cut into my computer time and my energy for computer time!

I really must note that Lilly was so spoiled and she thanks you all for helping her celebrate her special day! Also, this group of kids were unbelievable… really! They were so well behaved. It was awesome! Thanks everyone for coming!

The 3 Musketeers and the Little Girl Who Stands Alone

We have been trying so hard to do so much of this lately…

But the weather is not cooperating! It has been far too cold for Spring and we have been awaiting warm weather and outside fun for WAY too long! Bring on the warm weather Spring… Bring it on!

Nella needs help getting into this standing position, but does well when she is put there (at least for a short time). She is still working on her leg strength. I have no doubt in my mind she will be a pro in no time!

Sorry! I cannot resist those chubby feet!

Tribute to Gramma

The funeral service was a beautiful tribute to my Gramma yesterday. Thank you to Brian ( Gramma’s Minister), Anna and Mike for saying such true and profound words about our Gram. She is loved so much and will be missed greatly.

Here is the poem I wrote and read at the service yesterday:

Gramma’s gone to heaven, to reunite with Pop

When he sees her he smiles and embraces her

They begin their Tennessee Waltz.

We are sure gonna miss you here

I feel the aching in my heart

But we know you always loved us Gramma, from the very start.

So instead of saying goodbye

Because goodbyes are often hard

We will remember all you taught us in life

Even though our hearts may feel scared.

Family is what is important in life

Not much else really matters

We remember this and smile

Looking around this very room who has gathered.

Because although we may feel like falling

We are all there to catch each other

And Pop, he’s waited a long time for you

I can almost hear him calling

So off you go to heaven

We never will forget…

How you made snow angels with my girls

At the young age of 87.

Life will never be the same with you gone

We’ll keep making happy memories

I’ll you would want is for us to be strong.

I know when that pretty cardinal sings

or on my window sill sits a blue jay

It’s you and Pop here to assure us

We’ll see you again someday.

So strong for you I promise I’ll be

And strong for my children too

Until we reunite again, me and you.

and a poem Gramma chose to be read at Pop’s funeral which we also found quite appropriate for this occasion:

Now I’ve come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me.

I want not rites in gloom filled rooms

Who cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little – but not too long

And now with your head bowed low,

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone,

It’s all part of the Master’s plan

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart

Go to the friends you know,

And burry your sorrow in doing good deeds

Miss me, but let me go!

Celebrating a Sweet Little Girl’s Birth a Little Early

Lilly is going to be six tomorrow! I cannot believe how the years have flown by! Seriously, way too quickly! We decided to celebrate a little early this year since we just lost my Gramma (the girl’s Great Gramma) to cancer and we will be celebrating her life tomorrow at her funeral. I decided I still wanted tomorrow to be special for Lilly too. So, I am sending her to school with some Birthday cupcakes to share with her school friends. She is having a friend Birthday party next Sunday as well. I am sure this will be a birthday she will never forget. This girl has been completely spoiled already!

Gramma and Grampa took Lilly out shopping on Sunday and got her a new bike! She was beyond thrilled. Her new bike is beautiful and in her new favorite color too (light blue)! Thanks so much Gramma and Grampa. Lilly is loving her new ride! She also got a new soccer ball and shin pads so she can start practicing her soccer skillz since Mom and Dad will be signing her up to start soccer in May. I can’t wait to see her play. I know it will be beyond adorable!

Here are some pictures from our Sunday celebration. I am lacking words and brain cells and hope I will be able to blog somewhat normally soon.
