Here is what Nella is doing at One year old:
- You can scoot like no one’s business! You fly across that hardwood floor. And when you hit the carpet you start to crawl. You are one smart cookie figuring out just how much quicker you are on your bum!
- You can stand unassisted, but someone has to put you there. You are not too fond of standing yet. I think it is hard on your chubby little legs and you complain and protest with whines and cries.
- Your favourite thing to do is follow your sisters around. You ALWAYS wanna be where they are and it keeps Mommy very busy having to follow you around to make sure you are safe.
- Another favourite is pulling out the floor registers. You scoot from one to the other and yank them out of the floor!
- Mommy has caught you on more then one occasion in the bathroom eating toilet paper. You pull down the roll and rip off little pieces and eat it. I am really not to sure about this interest of yours but you do know the bathroom is off limits and I think that makes it appealing to you.
- You are still a wonderful sleeper! 2 naps (sometimes 3) and you sleep all night from about 7 – 7. If you do wake early (rare occasion) you will take a bottle and fall back to sleep like the angel you are. Good thing cause Momma needs her sleep. Amen! The only request or change I would have, is that you would sleep that well when we are not at home. Perhaps a nap in the playpen at Gramma’s house would be good!
- You say DaDa, Nella (seriously unreal), BaBa, and Momma (although not on command). You only play the Mom card when you are wanting something or crying and you were saying Lilly numerous times awhile ago, although we have not heard you say it the past week or so.
- You LOVE music and songs and clap along to “If You’re Happy And You Know It!”
- You still suck your middle and ring fingers for comfort (So cute. Like you are saying I love you all the time).
- You have four (yes four!) little teeth. It’s about time Nella! That is all mommy has to say about that!
- You are mostly a happy baby Although you have been sick, had two ear infections recently, plus the teeth coming through making you a tad bit grumpy lately.
- Your favourite meal so far seems to be spaghetti, although you are not too picky really. One thing is certain though and that is that you are so done with baby food. Even the baby Mum Mum crackers are so old news with you. “No thanks!” you say, by taking one from me and promptly throwing it to the floor!
- You are starting to feel much more comfortable around other adults and you are mostly happy with ones you don’t know so well, until Mommy is in sight and then you cry and whine for me. You have a favourite person Nella… I am so glad it’s me!
We are so very blessed you have you in our lives sweet Nella. We are so looking forward to, but definitely not rushing you to grow up! Watching you grow and absorb life and it all it offers is a beautiful thing. Love you Baby Girl, with all that I have. XOXO
